LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. —Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog are taking a break.
Muppet Vision 3D, the attraction at Hollywood Studios that mixes film and live-action, is closed for "refurbishment," according to Disney.
Disney did not indicate what is being refurbished.
Late summer is often the time when theme parks perform maintenance before the busy fall and holiday season.
Muppet Vision 3D will reopen on Aug. 22, according to Disney.
Directed by the late Jim Henson, Muppet Vision 3D opened in 1991 in the 564-seat theater in the Muppets Courtyard section of the park.
During the 15-minute show, Kermit the Frog guides park guests on a tour through Muppet Studios as the rest of the Muppets gang get ready for a show featuring 3-D technology.
But when Dr. Bunsen Honeydew's experimental 3-D character, Waldo, enters the picture, mayhem ensues.
Disney announced in July it would open "The Muppets Present: Great Moments in American History," a new stage show starring Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Kermit the Frog and the rest of the gang.
The show will debut at Magic Kingdom in October.
